STATEMENT
OF SERVICES
The incidence and prevalence of children with disabilities has progressively
grown over the years. Amongst the diagnoses given due attention and
consideration recently are inclusive of autism, aspergers syndrome,
pervasive developmental disorder, developmental delay, attention deficit
disorder, learning disabilities and dysfunction of sensory integration.
In North America, specifically in the United States of America, the
pervasiveness of children with specific disabilities has brought about
vast changes in its medical service delivery. In recent years, to
account for limitation of service provision specifically for occupational
therapy, there has been a definite change in mode of service delivery seen. Service provision has now predominantly been transferred to
the community setting where special needs schools with in-house therapists,
consulting therapist associates, community centers and private clinics have filled the distinct void in the marketplace and consumer demand
the traditional hospital setting can not handle.
This trend is now seen in Asia, where for a child with special needs
to obtain appropriate services, options are limited to a small number
of special schools and facilities.
As such, the establishment of KIDZ - Pediatric Occupational Therapy
Consultants will assist significantly in enhancing the options
made available for this rising population of special needs children.
KIDZ - Pediatric Occupational Therapy Consultants offer consulting
services for existing facilities without occupational therapy services,
provide intervention services to all families with special needs children
in need of services and organize education for paraprofessionals,
schools and families for the sole purpose of increasing the standard
and quality of life of children with disabilities.
KIDZ - Pediatric Occupational Therapy Consultants houses occupational
therapy services. The occupational therapists are well established
in the area of pediatric rehabilitation services having worked internationally
including Australia, United States of America, Canada and Singapore.
As such, therapists are familiar with the many demands at a cross-section
of medical systems. To provide quality client centered therapy services,
the therapists of this company strive on continuing education to ensure
that the most updated and best quality of care is provided to its
clients. Present staff are trained in and utilize the intervention
modalities of Developmental Therapy, Sensory Integration Therapy and
Craniosacral Therapy to establish a holistic and comprehensive care
program. KIDZ - Pediatric Occupational Therapy Consultants
also refer to and work with other disciplines involved to ensure that
clients receive a comprehensive multidisciplinary intervention program
if appropriate.
Currently, KIDZ - Pediatric Occupational Therapy Consultants
utilizes sensory integration as the primary frame of reference however
its therapists are also equipped with the knowledge of other intervention
techniques and modalities inclusive of developmental therapy and cranial
sacral therapy. The areas within the scope of sensory integration
