Experience
Sara Yeow is an occupational therapist who graduated from La Trobe University (Melbourne, Australia) and Nanyang Polytechnic. She gained further experience in working with kids within the Autism Spectrum Disorder in Australia, and also completed a literature review entitled “Sensory-motor or cognitive strategy: Which is the more effective evidence-based approach to handwriting problems in children aged 6 to 12 years old with developmental coordination disorder?” During NYP’s 12th annual Occupational Therapy Student Conference, she presented a paper entitled “Design of Therapeutic Play Environment – Current Perspectives and Future Implications for Paediatric Occupational Therapy in Singapore” in a group of three. She is currently a member of the Singapore Association of Occupational Therapists (SAOT).

Her experience at KIDZ has seen her managing clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Dyspraxia, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Dysfunction of Sensory Integration, Developmental Delay (DD), speech and language disorders, muscular issues, and learning disabilities. She works very well with clients from both the younger and older aged groups. Since completion of the Interactive Metronome course, Sara has been using the program intensively with the older aged clients in mainstream education. She has performed training at regional training centres for teachers. She has also held parent education seminars for the Autism Association Singapore and the Down Syndrome Association. Sara also has a special interest in children with handwriting and visual processing difficulties.
