GUIDING
PRINCIPLES
1. The "client" is the child and all its advocates, therefore
services should include not preclude the parents, teachers, paraprofessionals
involved.
2. The individuality, autonomy and dignity of every individual is
respected.
3. Children with disabilities have the right and inherent ability
to develop to reach their full potential and abilities in all walks
of life.
4. The child within the diagnosis is the focus of intervention planning,
not treatment of the symptoms of the prevailing diagnosis.
5. Education is valued for empowering and enabling strong, capable
and informed advocates for the child.
6. All clients have the right to services regardless of sociocultural
class, religion or race.
7. A multidisciplinary approach is encouraged thus cooperation and
sharing amongst paraprofessionals is valued. |
